Volos is the capital of Magnisia perfecture, situated in Pagasitikos gulf in central Greece. Being approximately 300km from Athens and 200km from Thessaloniki, it is a central point and one of the most important harbours of the country. Volos is known to be the successor of ancient Iolkos, the city of the mythological Argonauts. It is also famous for the beautiful mountain Pelion and the beaches sourrounding it.
